CONTENT strategy  

I worked with NGO Kwanda as a content writer and researcher to strengthen their digital presence and communicate the impact of their projects more clearly to a growing global audience. I was responsible for shaping content and storytelling approach that could translate complex, real-world impact into engaging, accessible narratives.

 

Our goal was twofold:

• Clearly communicate Kwanda’s mission and the tangible impact of its work

• Build a content system that could scale consistently across platforms while maintaining a strong, human tone of voice

The Challenge:

Kwanda works across meaningful, impact-led projects, but much of the storytelling required translating complex information into content that people could easily understand, connect with, and engage with online.

 

At the same time, there was a need to create consistency in output, both in quality and frequency, without losing the authenticity and nuance of the work.

 

 

 

The Solution:

We developed a structured, system-led approach to content creation that combined strategy, storytelling, and AI-assisted workflows.

 

1. Impact storytelling

We focused on turning projects into clear, engaging narratives, highlighting real-world impact, community stories, and outcomes in a way that felt human and relatable, rather than overly technical or abstract.

 

2. Thought leadership & education

We introduced content that positioned Kwanda as a voice within its space,  sharing insights, perspectives, and ideas that helped audiences better understand the broader context behind the work.

 

3. Scalable content systems

Using Notion, we built a centralised content system to manage ideation, planning, and publishing. This created structure across content pipelines, making it easier to maintain consistency while allowing space for creative iteration.

 

We implemented an AI-assisted workflow, training an AI agent to support content generation based on defined tone of voice, audience, and content goals. Rather than replacing creative thinking, this acted as a collaborative tool to speed up ideation, iteration, and production, while maintaining quality through human oversight and refinement.

Results 

• Grew Kwanda’s audience from 25K to 26.5K followers within one month

• Individual posts reaching up to 70K views

• Increased engagement across key content formats, leading to stronger audience interaction and conversion

• Improved consistency and efficiency in content production through systemised workflows

• Clearer, more accessible communication of impact across digital channels
